Our Balloons are manufactured by Cameron and Lindstrand Balloons USA. These two companies produce the finest balloon systems in the world. Our hot air balloons are federally registered aircraft and are inspected annually or every 100 hours of flight time, whichever comes first. Our balloon envelopes are appropriately name Smile High Sr, Smile High Jr and Hampshire High. Each balloon has enough lifting power to carry up to 1200 lbs. of passenger weight on an average New England day. There are two burners (engines) on each system as well as independent fuel systems with quick shut off valves for maximum safety and redundancy.

They stand between 70 and 90 feet tall, and are over 60 feet in diameter. The balloon envelopes are constructed from more than 1000 square yards of rip stop nylon fabric, 1/2 mile of reinforcing nylon webbing and over 3 miles of thread.

The balloon envelopes weigh between 325 and 420 pounds and the baskets with full fuel tanks, weighs up to 600 pounds.

The burners are fueled by liquid propane and can produce up to 30 Million BTU's of heat when both burners are ignited.

Once inflated, the balloons, the air inside and their cargo will weigh in excess of 2 tons.

High 5 Ballooning is proud to announce that it has purchased and put into service the first in the country balloon gondola (basket) with a door. No more struggling to get yourself over the walls of the basket to take your flight. We simply open the door and welcome you on board. This basket will be particularly well suited for the infirm or elderly passengers who may find it difficult to climb the basket walls to take their flight. For balloon tethers, this basket will have the ability to on load and offload passengers at a much higher frequency, giving us the unique capability to safely carry more passengers per tether than all other companies using traditional baskets. This basket has a capacity to carry as many as seven passengers depending upon size and weight.
